The time limit for the application intake has not been fixed by SINP. The SINP selects the candidates based on the criteria, i.e. education, experience, skills, etc. However, the criteria might get changed without intimation as per the province’s requirement and the further applications can be processed based on the latest criteria.

Below are the key features of the SINP

A. International Skilled Worker Category

The International Skilled Worker Category of SINP (Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program) has been designed for the overseas skilled workers willing to stay and work in the province of Saskatchewan. Under this category, SINP select and nominate the skilled workers, who possess the right skills, qualification, experience, language proficiency, etc. to contribute to the labour market, economy, and communities of the province of Saskatchewan.

The International Skilled Worker Category has three key subcategories, i.e.

  • International Skilled Worker – Occupations In-Demand Sub-Category
  • International Skilled Worker – Saskatchewan Express Entry Sub-Category
  • International Skilled Worker – Employment Offer Sub-Category

Among the above three subcategories, first two, i.e. OID and express entry subcategories are largely popular among the skilled workers applicants. The description of the all three subcategories is given below in detail.

Eligibility for FSWP- 67 points Criteria

The Federal Express Entry immigration system of Canada is based on a point-system, known as Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). An applicant has registered his account under one the below three categories i.e.

  • Federal Skilled Worker
  • Federal Skilled Trades
  • Canadian Experience Class

If you are applying as a foreign Skilled Worker, your eligibility for FSWP will be checked before the eligibility for ITA. In order to become eligible to apply in federal Express Entry System as a Skilled Worker, you must apply under FSWP (Federal Skilled Worker Program)category and obtain minimum 67 points out of 100 in the Canada Immigration Points Calculator of Express Entry System.

Let’s first start with the process of OID and express entry subcategories, which have an EOI based process.

Saskatchewan’s popular OID and Express Entry Subcategory

The Express entry and OID subcategories of Saskatchewan PNP are largely popular among the applicants, and they invite the thousands of skilled worker immigration applicants as well, every year.

  • International Skilled Worker – Occupations In-Demand Sub-Category
This particular category has been designed to nominate the candidate who does not have any job offer from a Saskatchewan employer, however, possess the special skills, which are highly in demand in the province of Saskatchewan. This program is open right now to accept a maximum of 1000 applications.
  • International Skilled Worker – Saskatchewan Express Entry Sub-Category
This particular category has been designed to select and nominate those skilled workers, which are already in the Express Entry Pool of CIC and suits best for the province’s labour market needs.

SINP EOI based Selection draws of OID and express entry subcategory

Saskatchewan has implemented the EOI (Expression of Interest) based system for its above mentioned OID and Express Entry subcategory. The applicants submit the EOIs mentioning their age, education, work experience, etc. details, and subsequently, they get selected based on the point they score in the Saskatchewan’s own Point Assessment grid.

Later, SINP periodically opens the EOI based draws for OID and express entry subcategory to select the suitable candidates and issue them invitation to apply for provincial nomination. When applicants submit the application (along with the documents) on receiving the invitation to apply from SINP, the PNP assess the received application and nominate the selected ones for Canadian permanent residency.

Now, as per the recent update from SINP, more than 200 occupations are eligible for the both Express Entry and Occupation in Demand (OID) subcategories of the Saskatchewan PNP.

Hence, if you wish to apply Canada PR this year, both above subcategories can provide you a key pathway to obtain the same.
